Giving out stickers to my Thai students has been hilarious.
The first school I was placed at, I'm pretty sure, had never seen stickers before and after seeing one kid trying
to eat her sticker I then had to demonstrate putting a sticker on a workbook.
In my second placement, after seeing me put stickers on
finished work the children literally speed up working to get their sticker and
then would shout “TEACHER!” in attempt to rush me over and get a sticker straight
away. It’s the funniest thing.
And then, flicking through my classes workbook the next day,
to see where we had got to and I saw this-
I cracked up laughing. And then my class started laughing.
Stickers. Who knew?
